Ornamental Excursion

A sequel to the popular, "Thursday Night Special," these seven designs combine beads, metallic threads, and Watercolours. Each ornament consists of a single stitch unit or motif, repeated a number of times.

Each ornament uses a 6" square of 18-count mono canvas, about 1/2 skein of Watercolours and a number of seed beads; Beaded Byzantine, Norwich Noel, Road to Bethlehem, Oriental Odyssey, and Yuletide Journey also use several yards of Kreinik #16 braid. Floss is used to match the beads. You will need #22 or #24 tapestry needles for the Watercolours and Kreinik braid and a #10 crewel needle for the beading. Although you may hold the canvas in your hand, I find it easier to stitch if the canvas has been mounted on stretcher strips.
